Ingredients

  • beef
  • onions
  • tomatoes
  • garlic
  • ginger
  • water
  • salt
  • Irish potatoes
  • cot meal
  • curry powder
  • Royco
  • African spices

Steps to Follow – our Local method.

  • Wash your beef
  • place your beef on a roaster (akatimba) and roast it till it turns brown
  • cut the beef into pieces of your choice
  • place the pieces of beef into a clean saucepan
  • add chopped onions, tomatoes,garlic and ginger to the saucepan
  • add your already peeled Irish potatoes to the saucepan
  • add cot meal to the saucepan
  • cover the saucepan
  • place the saucepan on an already lit charcoal stove
  • cook for about 2-3 minutes and then open the saucepan
  • add salt to the saucepan and cover again
  • cook again about 2 minutes and open the saucepan
  • stir evenly
  • add water with mudalasini to the saucepan
  • add plain water to the saucepan till the beef is fully immersed in water
  • evenly stir , cover the saucepan and cook for 3 minutes
  • open the saucepan
  • add dissolved royco, curry powder and African spices to your saucepan and stir evenly
  • cook until your stew is ready to be served
  • remove from the charcoal stove then serve
