Steps to Follow – our Local method.
- Wash your beef
- place your beef on a roaster (akatimba) and roast it till it turns brown
- cut the beef into pieces of your choice
- place the pieces of beef into a clean saucepan
- add chopped onions, tomatoes,garlic and ginger to the saucepan
- add your already peeled Irish potatoes to the saucepan
- add cot meal to the saucepan
- cover the saucepan
- place the saucepan on an already lit charcoal stove
- cook for about 2-3 minutes and then open the saucepan
- add salt to the saucepan and cover again
- cook again about 2 minutes and open the saucepan
- stir evenly
- add water with mudalasini to the saucepan
- add plain water to the saucepan till the beef is fully immersed in water
- evenly stir , cover the saucepan and cook for 3 minutes
- open the saucepan
- add dissolved royco, curry powder and African spices to your saucepan and stir evenly
- cook until your stew is ready to be served
- remove from the charcoal stove then serve
