How To Cook Liver Gravy – Ugandan Food

Try out this delicious Ugandan liver gravy recipe by frying liver pieces with salt, ginger, garlic, vegetables, and spices in a saucepan. In just a few minutes, you’ll have a flavorful and hearty meal that’s perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • fresh liver
  • cooking oil
  • water
  • tomatoes
  • salt
  • royco
  • carrots
  • green paper
  • ginger paste
  • garlic paste
  • cotmeal paste
  • onions
  • chilli powder
  • turmeric powder

Steps to Follow – our Local method.

  • cut the liver into pieces as you peel off the outer skin of the liver
  • place your pieces of liver in a clean saucepan and wash them well
  • put a clean saucepan on a lit charcoal stove
  • put cooking in the saucepan wait till its ready
  • add your pieces of liver to the saucepan and then stir evenly
  • fry for about 2 minutes
  • add salt to the liver in the saucepan and stir evenly
  • cover for a minute , remove the cover and stir
  • add ginger, garlic and cotmeal paste to the liver and stir
  • add chopped greenpaper and grated onions to the liver and stir
  • add grated carrots to the liver
  • add blended tomatoes to the saucepan
  • cover for a minute ,remove the cover and stir well
  • add chilli powder and stir
  • add turmeric powder and stir
  • add dissolved royco and stir
  • cover for about 20 seconds and then remove the saucepan from the charcoal stove
  • liver gravy is ready , then serve
